VERCOVOX-50 Dry Syrup

Description

Cefixime is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This medication is known as a cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.

How to use VERCOVOX-50 Dry Syrup

Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once a day. In children, this medication may also be taken twice a day (every 12 hours). Shake the bottle well before each dose. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. In children, the dose is also based on weight. Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Therefore, take this drug at evenly spaced intervals. Continue to use this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished, even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow, which may result in a relapse of the infection. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens.  OR  As directed by the physician

Side effects that you should report to your doctor or health care professional as soon as possible:

allergic reactions like skin rash, itching or hives, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue
bloody or watery diarrhea
difficulty breathing or wheezing
dizziness
fever
pain or trouble passing urine or change in the amount of urine
redness, blistering, peeling or loosening of the skin, including inside the mouth
seizures
unusual bleeding or bruising
unusually weak or tired
yellowing of the eyes or skin
