Description

LUTISCOP 1%W/W contains Luliconazole which belongs to the group of medicines called azole antifungal agents. It is indicated for the topical treatment of interdigital tinea pedis, tinea cruris and tinea corporis caused by organisms like Trichophyton rubrum and Epidermophyton floccosum in adult patients. Tinea pedis (athlete’s foot) is a dermatophyte infection of soles of feet and interdigital spaces. Tinea cruris, also known as jock itch is a superficial fungus infection of crotch (region where your leg joins) and perineum. Tinea corporis, popularly known as ringworm, is a fungal infection characterized by red, itchy, circular rash with clearer skin in the middle.

Luliconazole exerts its antifungal activity by disrupting the permeability of normal fungal cell membrane. It inhibits the enzyme lanosterol demethylase, which results in decreased amounts of ergosterol, which is a major component of the fungus cell membranes. It is only for topical use. It is not for ophthalmic, oral or intravaginal use. LUTISCOP 1%W/W is generally well tolerated and does not pose any side effects. However, if you experience any application site reactions, check with your physician. This medicine should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Consult your doctor before using. It is not known whether luliconazole can be excreted in breast milk. It should be used with caution in lactating mothers.
